Controls by Premier Energy Controls

Thermostats and controls for radiant heat.

Pair any ThermaRay system with a control package: a thermostat for every room, automatic snow melting, off-peak charging and access from your phone. Each package is designed by Premier Energy Controls, the U.S. dealer for Vector Controls.

One controller running every radiant heating zone Cutaway of a house in winter. A Vector controller in the mechanical room is wired to a room thermostat, radiant ceiling panels, thermal mass floor heat under the slab, an outdoor temperature sensor, the utility meter's off-peak signal, and a snow melt sensor and heating panels under the driveway. A phone connects to the controller over Wi-Fi. Radiant ceiling zone Room thermostat Vector controller Floor heat zone Remote access Outdoor sensor Off-peak signal Snow melt sensor
One controller runs every zone, from the slab to the driveway. Choose a part to see what it does.

What the controls do for a radiant system.

Controls can be as simple as a dial on the wall or as complete as full building automation. Every package is sized to the project, so you only pay for what you need.

Room by room

A radiant heat thermostat for every room

Each room or zone gets its own setpoint, schedule and minimum and maximum limits, whether it's heated by floor, ceiling or wall panels. Settings can be locked so nobody overrides them.

Hidden thermostats. If you don't want a thermostat on the wall, it can go in a closet with a small flush-mount sensor in each room. At Battery Wharf in Boston, five rooms run this way with nothing visible.

Includes
Configurable thermostats, remote and hidden sensors, schedules, lockout

Lower operating cost

Off-peak charging and load management

Thermal mass floors charge when the utility sends its off-peak signal, then release that heat through the day. The controller staggers heating circuits so they don't all switch on at once, keeping demand charges down.

An outdoor sensor tracks the outside temperature and locks systems out when heat isn't needed.

Includes
Off-peak interface, peak demand control, circuit staging, timed relay sequencing, outdoor air sensing and lockout

Driveways and walkways

Snow melt sensors and automatic control

A sensor in the pavement watches for moisture and freezing temperatures. It turns the snow melt system on before snow sticks and back off once the surface is clear, so the system only runs when it has to.

Includes
Moisture and temperature sensing, automatic start and shutoff

Anywhere

Control and monitor it from anywhere

Check temperatures, change setpoints and see performance trends from any phone or computer over Wi-Fi, or on site through the controller's built-in web page.

In commercial buildings, the same controllers connect to an existing building automation system over BACnet or Modbus and can also handle HVAC, ventilation, lighting and door and window monitoring.

Includes
Wi-Fi and web access, trending and tracking, BACnet and Modbus integration

The hardware: Vector Controls.

Open-protocol controllers that are BTL certified for BACnet, speak Modbus natively and never charge software licensing fees.

Designed by Premier Energy Controls.

Premier Energy Controls is the U.S. dealer representative for Vector Controls. They design the control package for each project, choosing the controllers, sensors and relays and drawing the wiring diagrams, so the controls fit the heating system Premier Energy USA supplies.

Questions about controls.

Have one that isn't here? Call 800-506-7973.

Can I control my radiant heat from my phone?

Yes. Vector controllers connect over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, so you can check temperatures and change settings from any phone, tablet or computer with a web browser. No app subscription is needed.

Can the thermostats be hidden?

Yes. The thermostats can be mounted in a closet or mechanical room, with a small flush-mount temperature sensor in each room. Combined with radiant panels hidden in the floor or ceiling, nothing about the heating system shows.

How do off-peak controls lower heating costs?

Many utilities offer cheaper rates for electricity used during off-peak hours. The controller watches for the utility's off-peak signal and charges thermal mass floors during those hours. The slab stores the heat and releases it through the day, so most of your heating runs on the lower rate.

Will the controls work with our building automation system?

Yes. Vector controllers are BTL certified for BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/IP and support Modbus RTU and TCP, so they connect to systems such as Niagara, Metasys and Distech without a gateway. Without a building system, they run on their own built-in web interface.

Are there software licensing fees?

No. Vector's setup and monitoring software, EasySet and EasyX2, and all firmware updates are free, with no per-point or yearly licenses.
