Near Lake Michigan, Wisconsin · 2022
A do-it-yourself home in Wisconsin
After 35 years with radiant ceiling heat, Dan and Mary Ellen installed 80 ThermaRay panels in their new home themselves, over one weekend.
- Panels
- 80, across both levels
- Placed in
- One weekend, by the homeowners
- Wired in
- One day, by an electrician

The challenge
Dan and Mary Ellen had radiant ceiling heat in their previous home for 35 years and wanted the same in their new home near Lake Michigan. They also wanted to do as much of the work as they could themselves.
The system
They contacted Premier Energy USA in the summer of 2021, met in person to see the panels and learn the process, and reviewed referrals and case studies. From their house plans, Premier Energy USA produced a proposal, a layout drawing, and a circuit and panel schedule for the whole house.
They ordered in spring 2022. The panels arrived by truck on a Thursday, and starting Friday the two of them placed all 80 panels on both levels over the weekend, following the layout.
The result
An electrician wired, finished and tested every panel in one day, ready for inspection.
